A full-body workout can be an efficient way to train multiple muscle groups in a single session. Whether you’re training at home or in a gym, combining compound movements with simple accessories can create an effective routine.
Squats
Squats primarily train the lower body while also requiring core stability. Keep your feet comfortable, maintain control, and avoid rushing through repetitions.
Push-Ups or Bench Press
Push-ups are excellent for home workouts, while the bench press provides a useful gym-based alternative. Both primarily target the chest, shoulders, and triceps.
Rows
Rows strengthen the muscles of your upper back and arms. You can perform them with dumbbells, resistance bands, cables, or other suitable equipment.
Lunges
Lunges challenge your legs individually, helping develop strength, balance, and coordination.
Shoulder Press
The shoulder press targets your shoulders and triceps. Use a manageable resistance and avoid using momentum to complete repetitions.
Planks
A strong core helps support many other movements. Planks can improve core endurance while teaching you to maintain a stable body position.
Sample Full-Body Routine
Try performing:
- Squats – 3 × 10–12
- Push-ups – 3 × 8–15
- Dumbbell rows – 3 × 10–12
- Lunges – 3 × 10 each leg
- Shoulder press – 3 × 10
- Plank – 3 × 30–45 seconds
Rest as needed between sets and adjust the exercises according to your experience level.
The goal isn’t simply to finish the workout. The goal is to perform each movement with control and gradually improve over time.
